Kenvue emerged as Johnson & Johnson's healthcare and lifestyle subsidiary in 2021. At CI&T, our team expanded the new branding language (by Wolff Olins) into UI and a design language across digital platforms.
Evolution
Academy Plus, a comprehensive educational and e-commerce platform, served as a vital resource hub where healthcare professionals accessed clinical training and ordered J&J products. This widely utilized platform became the first to undergo transformation into Kenvue's new digital branding. Our work began with a comprehensive analysis of the platform's structure and functionality.

Challenges & Opportunities
The project began with comprehensive heuristic and functional audits across multiple websites within the Kenvue pro/Academy Plus ecosystem, identifying diverse design patterns across platforms.
Heuristic evaluation was necessary to define usability and scope.
Systematic review enabled me and the team to identify user flows and interaction patterns for the primary users—doctors and pharmacists. The insights allowed PMs to define scope and deliverables effectively.
Later, collaborating with another UI designer, I identified necessary components for the library and design system and researched Design-System methodologies (selecting Atomic Design and design Tokens) and maintenance solutions (implementing Storybook).

Design iterations
With established branding in place, the process bypassed traditional grey-box wireframing in favor of designing layouts directly with actual brand elements, supplementing as needed. Close collaboration with stakeholders was essential during concept development and technical decision-making, significantly shaping the final outcomes. The resulting components strike a balance between the brand vision and user needs, forming a flexible design system ready for implementation across Kenvue’s global digital ecosystem.
Design system
A comprehensive component library was established, encompassing all UI elements, grids, spacing, typography, and interaction states. In parallel, clickable prototypes were developed, and each component’s use cases were thoroughly documented in Storybook.

Impact
The successful handoff of the project secured an ongoing partnership with Kenvue, resulting in contracts to transform additional digital platforms used by millions of users worldwide.
